Renal endocrine aspects of exercise-induced acute kidney injury (gym nephropathy)
نویسندگان
چکیده
The important renal endocrine aspect implicated in gym nephropathy is the activation of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). Intense exercise can lead to increased sympathetic nervous activity, resulting release renin from juxtaglomerular cells kidneys. Renin acts on angiotensinogen, leading generation angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. Angiotensin II stimulates secretion aldosterone adrenal glands, which promotes sodium reabsorption and potassium excretion persistent RAAS may contribute damage by causing vasoconstriction promoting inflammation.

Peanut-induced acute oxalate nephropathy with acute kidney injury
Oxalate nephropathy is commonly caused by ethylene glycol, vitamin C, and foods like star fruit that contain a lot of oxalate. Peanuts also have high oxalate contents. However, case reports of peanut-induced oxalate nephropathy are not common. Here, we describe a case of peanut-induced acute oxalate nephropathy with acute kidney injury and intend to demonstrate the conditions under which peanut...

Prostaglandin-based renal protection against contrast-induced acute kidney injury.
It has been known for 3 decades that the kidneys rely considerably on a group of prostaglandins that are locally produced in both a constitutive and inducible fashion, primarily in the medulla, to regulate renal blood flow and a variety of functions in tubular cells that occupy that region of the kidney. Arachidonic acid released from phospholipids is converted by cyclooxygenase (COX-1 constitu...
متن کاملNutritional aspects in acute kidney injury.
Nutritional assessment is an indispensable tool for the evaluation and clinical monitoring of patients with acute kidney injury (AKI). Acute loss of renal function interferes with the metabolism of all macronutrients, responsible for proinflammatory, pro-oxidative and hypercatabolic situations. The major nutritional disorders in AKI patients are hypercatabolism, hyperglycemia, and hypertriglyce...

Case Presentation: A 63-year-old man with prior mitral valve repair, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and mild chronic renal insufficiency (creatinine 1 year earlier, 1.2 mg/dL) presents to the emergency department with progressive dyspnea on exertion and new anterior T-wave inversions. Subsequent laboratory testing confirms a myocardial infarction (troponin I, 11.0 ng/mL) and worsening renal insu...
